OVER DE OMGEVING
In de buurt van het hotel zijn er vele interessante plekken om te bezoeken en leuke dingen te doen. Het Dom Carlos Liberty Hotel ligt op slechts vijf minuten lopen van het park Eduardo VII, waar u 's morgens of in de namiddag een kalme en gezonde wandeling kunt maken. Adem de zuurstofrijke lucht in terwijl u de mooie planten en kleurrijke bloemen bekijkt.
Sportliefhebbers kunnen in de buurt hun hart ophalen, want er zijn mogelijkheden om te varen, vissen, zwemmen, tennissen, squashen, racketballen, en aan aerobics en yoga te doen.
Het hotel ligt op slechts 20 meter van de Avenida da Liberdade, de "Champs Elysées van Lissabon". Eveneens in de buurt van het hotel vindt u het bekende winkelcentrum Amoreiras, dus als u van winkelen houdt, hoeft u niet ver te gaan!
Bent u op zoek naar cultuur en geschiedenis, dan is een bezoek aan de Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian zeker de moeite waard. Dit museum heeft een van de grootste collecties ter wereld op het gebied van Egyptische kunst. Het ligt op twee kilometer van het hotel. Op drie kilometer bij ons vandaan vindt u het Castelo de São Jorge en de historische binnenstad van Lissabon. Hier bevinden zich de oudste monumenten van de stad en tevens de Moorse wijk Alfama. Op vier kilometer van het hotel bevindt zich de Doca de Santo Amaro (beter bekend als de "Docas"), een nieuw uitgaansgebied in de haven van Lissabon, bij de rivier de Taag, met vele restaurants, bars en discotheken. Hier kunt u genieten van een lekkere portwijn, uitstekend Portugees eten, en natuurlijk een prachtig uitzicht op de rivier.

By car:
From any entrance to Lisbon, follow the signs "Centro", which will take you to Marquês de Pombal Square, the most known circus in the city, at the bottom of the Eduardo VII Park. Arriving there take the Rua Braamcamp and turn to the left as soon as you can, once more to the left on the next set of traffic lights, you are then on the Rua Alexandre Herculano, crossing the central lane of the Avenida de Liberdade The Dom Carlos Liberty Hotel is located immediately on your right.
By plane:
Daily domestic, regional and International flights arrive to Lisbon Airport, located at 5.5 km from the Hotel Dom Carlos Liberty. To arrive to the Hotel by taxi, you can find a taxi by yourself, costing around 12/15 EUR, or paying a little bit more acquiring a "Taxi Voucher" from the "Turismo de Lisboa" information desk in the airport's arrivals area. Here the staff will take you to the taxi, and you can be assured of not paying any extra charge. Estimated trip time: 20 to 35 minutes. To arrive to the Hotel by bus, Aerobús Carris Number 91 departs from the airport to the city center every 20 minutes. Other buses that you could take from the airport are number 83, 45, 44 and 22. Buses provide a cheap, reliable service.
- If you want to reach the Hotel by car , follow the instructions to the city center and Praça Marques de Pombal. Passing by the Praça of Saldanha and you will drive along Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo. After arriving to the Marques de Pombal roundabout take the Rua Braamcamp (second street on you right) and turn to the left as soon as you can, once more to the left on the next set of traffic lights, you are then on the Rua Alexandre Herculano, crossing the central lane of the Avenida de Liberdade The Dom Carlos Liberty Hotel is located immediately on your right.
By train:
Take the train until Santa Apolónia Railway Station. From the station to the hotel, you could take a taxi or the buses number 90, 746 and 9, that will leave you very near the Hotel. Estimated trip time: 20 to 30 minutes.
By subway:
To arrive to the Hotel by subway, take it until the Marques de Pombal station (located at 40 meters from the Hotel). Exit there and take the way out to Rua Alexandre Herculano/Sta. Marta. When you get out there you will see the Hotel Dom Carlos Liberty on your front/left.
